Incredible Piece of Kitsch

All students of Maya history should read this! Each page is uproariously entertaining! It makes for hours of geat conversation and sarcastic references later on in the field!!! Take this along on your next trip to the Peten, or the Yucatan and pass it around. The Umland's theories are wonderfully supported by lack of evidence...I know, it seems impossible but somehow they do it! The jacket design is truly a find in itself. Worth every penny for sheer entertainment value. In Belize I asked one of our local workers if he thought his ancestors flew in spaceships. He gave me a funny look and didn't say yes....and he didn't say no either! Hmmm?!

A thought provoking insight on the vanishing of the Maya.

Let me start off by saying that it's a damn shame that such a fine book is out of print. The authors do a fantastic job of giving what might possibly be a highly intellegent discussion on the dissapearence of an entire race. It is absolutly amazing as to the insight and seemingly endless research theese two brothers put into book that to me seems sadly underappreciated. A fantastic read all the way through.
