My Once So Bright, ( after Leonard Cohen )is a collection of questions about paths taken throughout a life, some strewn with jagged rocks, some with smooth pebbles.

A section called Fugitive lines quotes much admired poets as a springboard for a new poem. Within the Line is a section containing poems that stick to a particular form. Dubious Conclusions needs no explanation, the poet wonders out loud but the why isn't really answered. Language is the primary force that drives each poem, to resonate with the reader through sound, emotion, nostalgia, humor; to suggest but not preach that we are all of nature and in essence the same. Through language we can say who we are. Through metaphor we connect seemingly unlike comparisons to widen the circle and close it back unto itself .

We now feel included. the poet to the reader, the individual to the multitude, the line to the thought, the mind to the heart.
