Pleasantly surprised

I am not much of a reader but have recently been reading some vampire stories. When I became aware that an old classmate had published a book, I purchased My Love Eternal out of curiousity and support. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised! Liz has a talent for capturing the reader's attention within the first few pages. I ended up reading this book the same day I started it..I just couldn't put it down. Each chapter ends leaving you hooked to continue with the next right away. I really enjoyed how Liz encorporated references to our home town and how the characters where portrayed so realistically. It was nice to see different twists within the book that were totally unexpected and exciting. I am so looking forward to the release of the next two books in this series! For anyone who wants a nontypical love story that's easy to read, I would highly recommend My Love Eternal Love. Thanks Liz!!

A very different sort of vampire romance

My Love Eternal is a very different sort of vampire romance. Don't let the description of Giovanni in the blurb fool you - he may be the requisite "hawt vamp" but the real star here is Rachel. With nary a backward glance Rachel leaves behind her boring life as a hospital clerk and joins Giovanni in his vampire existence. What, you say, no hand-wringing over leaving behind a normal life, no agonizing over drinking human blood to survive, no emo whinging over killing people to survive? NO! None of that! To which I say, YES! Rachel and Giovanni make the best of their undead creature of the night existence. Rachel devotes herself to expanding her world through both travel and study, something I thought was awesome. Their little family of two eventually expands when she finds a young boy, newly orphaned and traumatized, and brings him home to take care of him. Giovanni's past catches up with them, in more ways than one. The ending, which I will not divulge, was such a shock I really didn't see it coming, especially in a book with the genre tag "paranormal romance." Grrr... I wish I could talk about the ending but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. Let me just say this: ending the book this way was a brave thing for an author to do. My Love Eternal is the first in a three part series and I'll definitely be getting the next two.

Excellent Book Can't Wait for the Next One

This book is excellent! I loved reading it, it is one of those books you can't put down, the book just flows. I really liked that she made it personal and wrote about what she knows, it really shows that she did her research. I also like that fact that she mentioned Kingston her home town (which happens to be mine also). It has it all, the love and devotion of a partner, excitement and yes some violence and of course sex, but it all works to make the book what it is EXCELLENT. I think Liz Strange is a great writer and I look forward to reading all her books. The ending leaves you wondering and sad at the same time, can't tell you what it is but you know that Rachel and her little family have a lot of adventures ahead of them, as for Giovanni....... Liz keep on writing, you have a God given talent and I am glad to have read your very first novel.

A little less glitter, a little more fang please!

My Love Eternal is a darker book. Much like Ann Rice's original vamp stories Liz Strange does not dabble in the glittery, the emo, the whiny or the angsting. Rather she delves teeth first into a darker side of the vamp culture. One where hard choices must be made to survive, yet the vampires themselves are rather amused that one would ask whether or not they're happy being immortal. The answer is a resounding yes! Her characters have command over not just themselves, but of the story and the choices they make. Rather than being solely based on emotion they are steeped in death, choice, fate and passion. I found myself in love with both Rachel and Giovanni. Later I cried and laughed with Eli. Oh so many wonderful people/vamps. I wonder whether Charles will prove to be a good companion, or end up disappointing again. Giovanni is the quintessential tall dark and handsome man who sweeps up Rachel in a fit of blood, desire and desperation. What follows next is not expected but highly anticipated. The love scenes are fantastic and graphic, the bad guys are really bad and have no remorse for the taking of life, whether it be human or immortal. And Eli, the poor orphan boy, Oh Eli what a sad lot in life you have! I cannot wait for the next book. If it's in Rachel's own words again, I couldn't even imagine where the story line will go next.

Liz Strange creates a new twist on the Vampire Story

My Love Eternal is a new twist on an old story. We all know how the vampire story goes - unhappy with who they are they cause havioc in the lives of the mortals around them. Liz gives us a new story surround vampires who are happy with who and what they are bringing new light into a dark tale. I've got a little insider info here - this is the first book of a trilogy that Liz is creating, and I for one cannot wait for the other books to be done! (Write Liz, WRITE!!!) I'm also going to be talking with Liz about My Love Eternal on Page Readers in July when the book is coming out in print form. Congrats Liz! I know it will be a good interview because this is a great story. I can't wait to hear how she came up with this idea and hopefully she'll tell us a little bit about the other stories she's working on.
