When talented photographer Arden Morales, fleeing a toxic relationship, arrives in Laguna Beach to document the ArtWave festival, he isn't searching for love. Instead, he hopes to find a new light that can shine through the cracks of his past. On the Pacific shores, however, on the very day of his arrival, he meets Luke Whitaker, a former swimmer from the Midwest who runs the elegant boutique hotel High Tide. Their first exchange is lively, but beneath his somewhat cocky exterior, Luke hides his anxiety about being understood by his mother, who has never truly accepted his choices.
Amidst the Pacific waves, the dawn surf, and the artworks prepared for the exhibition, the bond between Arden and Luke deepens as they recognise each other's wounds and grow closer each day. However, the balance is disrupted when Evan, Arden's ex, reappears, intent on destroying their relationship through intimidation and forever ruining the possibility of a pure and sincere love.
