After saving Earth from the Karaak invasion fleet, Will, Rayne, and Francine find themselves on the other side of a wormhole stranded in a distant galaxy. To make matters worse, the damage Francine suffered in the climactic battle needs immediate repair, and the crew is forced to search for the first inhabited planet they can land on.

Unfortunately, the first civilized world they reach isn't much more advanced than Earth, so obtaining the materials needed to repair the ship without being detected as "aliens" will be fraught with danger.

Equally unfortunately, the planet itself harbors a dark secret, and the impending doom descending on it will not wait for Francine's repairs. The first world they encounter in this new galaxy might very well be their last.
