My Ancestry: Ode to the Universe

I'm in my eighties. In my twenties, I studied the history of humanity over the past 200,000 years, beginning with early ancestors like Homo habilis, whose cave markings sparked my curiosity about how humans survived, communicated, and developed tools; I came to see them as my ancestral roots and wanted to embody their resilience. In my thirties, my focus expanded to the origins of the universe itself, from the Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago to the formation of stars, planets, and the carbon that makes up all life, including me, deepening my sense of connection to the cosmos. I reflected on how recently humans have come to understand the universe's timeline and its ongoing expansion, recognizing that we are not separate from it but part of its creative, evolving process-beings of the universe with the unique ability to reflect on our own existence.
