Motivic Drumset Soloing: A Guide to Creative Phrasing and Improvisation

By Terry O'Mahoney

(Percussion). Motivic Drumset Soloing focuses on the art of drumming, the techniques and philosophies behind it, and the paths leading toward a more fulfilling and musical drumset experience. "This book fills an important gap in the world of drumset literature. The book is comprehensive in its approach toward helping the student learn the basics of improvisation and composition on the drumset. I am confident that Terry's book will prove to be an indispenable part of the study on how a drummer might enhance and complete their musical contributions to any ensemble." Peter Erskine "If you can't play a solo after this book, you might want to think about doing something else." Jeff Hamilton
