Drawn to Egypt's ancient history, traditions and archaeological discoveries, Talya O'Hearn leaves her home country Australia and ventures to Cairo. Once there, she intends to join a group of scientists exploring ancient sites. Though her main reason is; to be reunited with her childhood friend, Jassir - son of Bedouin Shekhar Fahir. Past history had brought her and Shekhar's family together. Her father Connor, his best friend Jonas and sister Anina also share part of this history. Jonas, Jassir and Talya join an international team researching historic sites and were quite successful, when devastating events interrupts their work. Shekhar's family suffers the most.
