Excellent utilization of a deer!

This book shows everything a deer can be used for, including (no kidding) making soap from the deer's tallow. Also, fishing lures from the hair, knife handles from the antlers, also how to use a soup-can to press saugage paddies. Also, home-taxidermy, home tanning, and the best sketches and illustrations I've ever seen for doing your own butchering in the garage. Walrod makes it look easy...I tried his method, and it works!

Most descriptive book I've read on utilizing a deer

This book tells me a lot that I've never read anyplace else about how to butcher a deer by yourself. Sure, you'll find diagrams here and there that appear to be helpful, but when you're out in the cold garage late at night trying to correlate a poor sketch with where exactly to make the right cuts, you really should have Walrod's book close at hand. He makes a lot of sense, and he goes on to tell us about how to make soap from the fat (tallow), then on to fishing lures, home taxidermy, antler craft, pickled tongue (no kidding!), and best of all, how to cook venison so well that even ordinary citizens will love it.
