Love Patrick Mcdonnells drawings

A book both kid and adult would love.

All creations by Patrick McDonnell are just "schwell"!

All five publications by Patrick McDonnell are a joy to own, read and re-read! With the premature departure of Bill Watterson, Gary Larson and the retirement of the beloved Charles Schulz, Patrick McDonnell has filled the void with his wonderfully witty and wise panels both hilariously funny and yet reminding us of our responsiblity to those who cannot speak for themselves. His work is both satisfyingly current and yet contains the best essence of the earliest cartoons (Krazy Kat, etc.) I await the next compilation! Cheers, Patrick!

Too bad...

... that I can't rate this higher than five stars!This is the sweetest comic strip ever. Its innocent characters, pet antics, and angstless plotlines make me feel that the world is a beautiful place. Amidst a thousand cynical strips, this one matches "Peanuts" for charm.

How come no one ever calls me "Moony Eyes?"

...i was at a friend's house today and i noticed that his cat was looking at herself in the mirror. I remembered reading the Mutts strip where Mooch does the very same thing and started to realize that almost everything the characters in Mutts do is something i've actually seen a cat or dog do in real life... that's part of what makes Mutts so funny to me! My favorite two pages of "More Shtuff," if i had to pick, are pages 98 and 99, where our cat hero is "shtuck" under a bedsheet. I laughed so hard i cried! Let's hope "Mutts" is around for a long, long time...

A classic in the tradition of Calvin and Hobbes

Beautifully drawn, poignantly written, damned funny. Belongs on the shelf next to Calvin and Hobbes and Pogo.

A warm, funny visit with Earl, Mooch, and the gang.

This third collection of the wonderful "Mutts" comic strips will appeal to old fans and should convert new ones. Mr. McDonnell's compassion for all living things shines through in every panel. Earl the dog and Mooch the cat show us what best friends can really be. This book made me alternately laugh out loud and wipe tears from my cheeks. The deceptively simple art is brilliant and often includes homages to great strips of the past. If you have ever had a pet (even a fish) or wanted one, *you will love this book*! Give it to all your friends for Christmas.
