I was happy to have the guide and find every possible campground we thought about. The scenic rating is very helpful - we decided to look for campgrounds rated 8-10 (10 = best). You have to watch out that many are for RV's if your tent camping, but that is not hard to find out. I rather have one guide that covers it all than not knowing I just passed by an overnight place I might have liked but some other guide book would not recommend or take in. Usually we picked to campgrounds and if we didn't like the one we took the other.
