The words are rhymatic and reads like a song which is perfect for young learners. Mr. Burckhardt's illustrations enhance the book exceptionally well. They are vivid like a child's dream and are georgous in both color and design. Children will have fun hunting out all the items in each and every picture as you read them the story. This book is a must for young mothers everywhere and is just in time for Mother's Day!!

Couldn't help but smile.

Everything about this book is beautiful. The illustrations and the words to go along with them are wonderful. This book is too perfect of a gift for any mom who has a son. My son enjoyed reading it and oogled over the pictures as well. there are oceans, skies and so much more. Definitely a good buy.

A heartwarming beautiful book.

This is a wonderful book. In a heartfelt and beautiful way it details the unending love a mother has for her son. Wonderfully illustrated in dreamlike pastels the images go to further tell the story of how a mother loves her little son. A must for any mother of a little boy. My two year old son loves this book. It is his favorite. He points to the picture and says "MAMA" and smiles. This is a wonderful book!

Touching ode to mothers and sons

John Carter Cash's first children's book is a touching ode to that very special bond between mothers and sons. Momma and son sail far away to China, then climb a rainbow, and fly over the earth back to a familiar riverside and back home again. Cash's poetic prose reads like the lyrics of a soothing ballad. Every illustration is a two-page spread of Marc Burckhardt's watercolor paintings. His magical artwork contains exquisite details and vivid colors conveying the real action and emotion in this story. A child who doesn't yet know how to read words can easily understand the story by reading the pictures. Burckhardt is a gifted picture book illustrator who knows how to bring prose to life in a whole nother dimension. I hope he will illustrate more children's books. "Momma Loves Her Little Son" is a comforting bedtime story that Momma can read aloud then leave with son so he can discover his own story in the enchanting pictures.

This is a charming story about the love between mother and son. The book starts out with a mother holding her son in the sunlight saying "Momma loves her little son. There is nothing more so true. From now until forever more, Momma clings to you." It goes on to show the adventures of the mother and son recounting the depths of the mothers love for her child. A beautiful and heartwarming story! The illustrations are incredible and are unlike any other children's book that I have seen. The colors are so vivid and seem to pop off of the page. The book liner describes the style as American art. Your child is sure to be captured by the wonder in the pictures. A great book - I highly recommend. I look forward to reading this book to my son for years to come!
