Very helpful

I found this book to be very helpful. I like that it was written by someone who has been there (twice), rather than a doctor/professional who has theories but no personal experience. I bought this book because I couldn't find any detailed information online regarding single-mom dating past the point of meeting someone and the initial introduction to the kids. This book goes into topics like public displays of affection, sleep-overs, moving in together, getting remarried, etc. I also like that it discusses all different age groups. Now that I've read it, my boyfriend is reading it too. It is written from the woman's perspective, but a man would certainly benefit from the information. As long as he can ignore or get past some occasional ex-husband bashing within the stories.

Covers every angle!

Ellie Slott Fisher covers every angle -- and not only delivers the information, but does it with a great sense of humor! Her warm, engaging personality shows through on every page. This book is a really enjoyable, and really reassuring, way to pick up useful advice.

Well Done

This book, while geared more towards single moms in their 30's and 40's was still very helpful and funny to me as a 22yr old. I really enjoyed the anecdotes along with the good advice. I am now trying to get my own mother to read it.

a single mother's "bible" to dating and raising children

Ms. Fisher's guide is a breath of fresh air. Her honest look into the world of single mother's,dating and parenting well is shown in a realistic and postive manner with humor. I really enjoyed her book. It's a must read for single mother's everywhere!

Laughed out loud

Ellie Slott Fisher nails it-everything you need to know as a newly dating parent, with tons of humor so you can keep your sanity and stop feeling like you're stuck in a time warp. A cross between Sex in the City and Good Housekeeping. If you're newly single with kids, grab it, put the kids to bed, and enjoy.
