Moisture vapor ingress in building envelopes remains one of the most persistent and costly failure mechanisms in humid climates. Unlike wind-driven rain or plumbing leaks, vapor-driven moisture accumulation develops silently within cavity spaces, insulation, and structural substrates-often remaining undetected until significant damage occurs.
The primary driver of this moisture ingress is a pressure imbalance created by the reverse stack effect, combined with seasonal vapor pressure differentials between indoor and outdoor environments.
