The Magic is Rekindled!

Elise and Garrett have a love that has lasted for approximately two decades and a marriage of 17 years. Definitely, a couple who has shared so much together -- some magically and others not. However, theirs is a love to last a lifetime.Elise is plaqued with changes in her life that she comes to think will make her less a woman. Because of her fears, Elise feels that her marriage to Garrett is in trouble. Not only with her health issues, but because Elise felt this has been ongoing for sometime now. Elise has forgotten that Garrett has always been there for her, through the good times as well as the bad. Elise needs to be reminded that Garrett is a man of his word and has never broken a promise to her and he is well respected by others. Garrett, big and handsome, a man committed to his wife has some issues that have never been discussed or faced. All his life, he has thought of others and tried to do what was best for others. Garrett has an opportunity to do something that would benefit him, but Garrett thinks about Elise and the consequences of his actions if he does what he truly wants to do. They Have Come Full Circle

Elsie Thorne met Garrett Taylor while in college, they have been married for 17 years and have two children 3year old Andrew, 16year old Alyssa. Over the years they have become comfortable with each other an their life. Elsie is an interior designer, who thinks her husband doesn't pay her enough attention. At 38years old her doctor tells she has started going through the change of life. Garrett is a pediatrician who wants to write a baby book. He wonders why he wife has started fakeing it when they make love. A trip to a small island in the Caribbean, no phones no one but each other they get over the rough spots in their marriage. They learn to talk and listen to each other again. They recapture the love they had for each other 17 years ago. For all of us who have been married for 17 years or longer Deirdre, this really hit home. Thank you.

Magical!

Elise and Garrett, after 17 years of marriage are a couple that I am sure many can identify with. Sometimes it is not big, dramatic things that can do a marriage in, but the small, little things. Things about the other person that work your last nerve, but you've come to accept, ignore, but don't forget. And like a piece of sand that worries the oyster, it just grows and grows until you finally have to deal with it.Such was the case with Elise and Garrett. Most couples, after 17 years of marriage complain that their sex lives have gotten stale and predictable. Not the case with Elise and Garrett. Things had always been fine in the bedroom. It was OUT of the bedroom that they had problems. Things that they should have been able to freely share with each other, became secrets that they could NOT share with one another. However, when they go on a holiday trip, both realize that things have escalated much too out of control and for the sake of their marriage, SOMETHING must be done.While I did not agree with Elise's method of giving Garrett a wake up call, I understood her decision and the plot still kept me turning the pages to find out how they would resolve their conflict. Ms. Savoy did an excellent job of showing an ordinary marriage with ordinary problems. How does one save a basically good marriage that has gone awry? With secondary characters and island descriptions that added just enough flavor to keep you intrigued, Midnight Magic was a wonderful, easy read that at times made you laugh out loud, shake your head and keep turning the pages to see what would happen next.Good job Dee!!! I look forward to reading your other novels and future novels. These are real folks with real issues and real ways of solving those issues. I highly recommend this read to romance as well as general fiction readers.

Deidre Savoy did a wonderful job with this story Midnight Magic. The characters weren't new to us, we met them in two of her previous novels ALWAYS and ONCE and AGAIN. In those stories the couple had been married for several years. Midnight Magic is their story.Elise and Garrett Taylor met when they were in college. You would have never thought Elise the prim and proper interior design major would have never captured the heart of Garrett "number 43" Taylor. But she did and he captured hers. Garrett and Elise had been through some hard times.Elise didn't seem like herself. They now had two children and it seems with her interior design career and him being a peditrician that didn't have time for each other. They decide to take a trip to the Caribbean, maybe this will help. Midnight Magic revisited how the couple got together the triumphs and tragedy they faced together. It was good to visit with Elise's sister Daphne and brother Michael. This book also explained why Michael Thorne acted the way he did. I love books with family themes. I would have to say my favorite book by Ms. Savoy is SPELLBOUND. To get to know Elise's brother and sister read ALWAYS and ONCE AND AGAIN.

Celebrating her 38th birthday Elise finds herself apprehensive about the approaching "BIG 4-0" and reluctant to confide her recently learned health dilema with her husband. Garrett has always respected the strength, wisdom and love of his wife in decisions that affect their lives, but long hours spent in his pediatric practice has him contemplating co-authoring a book to boost his practice and give him more time to spend with his family. However, Garrett has reason to be hesitant in sharing the news with Elise. The sexy, young woman that is hotly pursuing him for his answer seems attracted to more than his writing skills. Garrett and Elise find an opportunity for the two of them to spend time on the remote Milagro Island may be just what the "DR" ordered to help them rekindle the flame of love. As Garrett and Elise explore the mysteries of the Island, they also explore the hidden things within each other igniting a fire which promises to blaze brighter in their hearts with promises of a lifetime. I enjoyed Deirdre giving us a glimpse of Garrett and Elise's meeting and falling in love, as well as something budding for Jasper. This book is worthy of 5 stars plus.
