On the evening of December 31st 1999, the curator of the Ch teau de Versailles is about to greet his guests for the New Year's celebration. Among them is the domain administrator, a young, rather plain, art historian who is also a nymphomaniac, a Lebanese diamond dealer and a poor aristocrat. Everything is in place for a luxurious, memorable evening. But no one could predict the catastrophic storm that blew in that night, destroying parts of the ch teau, uprooting trees, shattering the famous Gallery of Mirrors and provoking huge power failure.
