Merry and the Wishing Star

By Barbara Lander Burger

Christmas has come to Mumblewart, and no one loves the season more than Merry. This year, she dreams of giving her village the most magnificent Christmas tree anyone has ever seen. But when the beautifully decorated tree is missing just one thing-a perfect star for its very top-Merry has a brilliant idea.

High above the snowy village shines the brightest star of all: the North Star. Surely no one will mind if she borrows it just until Christmas is over.

Merry's plan creates a spectacular Christmas tree, but she soon discovers that the North Star belongs to more than Mumblewart. Far beyond the village, people are waiting to make wishes of their own. Merry must decide what matters more: creating the perfect Christmas for her friends or returning something precious to everyone.

Merry and the Wishing Star is a warmly illustrated Christmas tale about kindness, giving, and discovering that the most beautiful things aren't always the most perfect ones.
