Excellent book- has my 7 year old hooked on all of them

Wonderful book. My son loves mystery books, and after moving through all the Nate The Great series, and then hit and miss with Cam Jansen and Encyclopedia Brown, he has devoured all of the Meg Mackintosh books. Very engaging, nice images that are used to help solve the mysteries. Hope Lucina writes some more!!

Great mystery series for young readers!

The Meg Mackintosh books let the young reader follow along and solve the mystery along with Meg, using visual clues in the pictures and information in the story. There is sufficient suspense to keep my 6-7 year old interested and she really gets involved by actively thinking and looking for clues to try to solve the mystery before Meg. In this book, Meg and her class are on a field trip at an old castle. A jeweled chalice disappears, and Meg (and the reader) must follow the clues to catch the real thief before they get away. We had a great time reading the book together -- a few times I gently suggested things to think about before she turned the page and with each subsequent book she got better at figuring out the clues. A strong girl character, but with enough brothers/boys in the stories to make them interesting to boys and girls.

Great books for smart, adventurous girls

I read about this series in a book listing good books for girls and my daughter loved it. It's a quick read but fun and with a character girls can admire.

The best mystery book ever

I liked the book because it solved the biggest mystery ever. I like mystery books. Meg Mackintosh is the best detective ever in every mystery book I read.
