She needs a house to rebuild her career. He needs a fianc e to keep his home. Neither planned on rebuilding their hearts in the process. Daisy Decker didn't plan to ruin her career by making her hit home renovation show choose between her and her cheating co-host, but she's got a plan to fix it. Step one, find a house on the world's most adorable island. Step two, film herself giving it a total "Decker" remodel to restart her YouTube channel. Step three, crush her ex in ratings until the network comes crawling back. The only problem? The only house she can afford belongs to the guy who got away. Local contractor Hunter Barrett won't sell his family's legacy-especially not to the woman who broke his heart. But when the family trust threatens to force the sale on his thirty-first birthday, he's out of options... unless he can find a fianc e overnight. Maybe there is a way for them both to get what they want by helping each other? With time running out and walls coming down, Daisy and Hunter discover that sometimes the strongest foundations are built on second chances.
This is a super fun novel that takes readers back to the lovely Jonathon Island. Daisy Decker and Hunter Barrett are characters you’ll feel empathy towards as they struggle with betrayal from people who should have guarded their hearts. This is a fake fiancé story, one of my favorite tropes, and the author does a great job of creating anticipation of when and how the couple’s fake engagement is revealed. Both characters need healing, and their journeys to restoration are satisfying. There is a faith element that isn’t in your face that focuses on where we should place our trust.
Sweet romance on Jonathon Island

I totally loved this sweet story about Hunter and Daisy. Hunter’s tragic past that haunts him made him a brooding hero, desperate to keep what’s left of his family and family business together. His loyalty and work ethic made him trustworthy and his romantically clueless nature made him endearing. Daisy’s optimistic sunshiny personality was perfect for her show, her viewers and, most importantly, for Hunter. She had some stuff in her past that she needed to overcome as well and I loved that her mom could help her. Fake engagement trope is one of my favorites so it was delightful to see Hunter and Daisy navigate their relationship. The setting of Jonathon Island was beautiful and nostalgic to return to. Becoming a part of a renovation project through the eyes of a designer and a contractor/carpenter was incredibly fun. I enjoyed catching up with some of the other characters from the series. And I hope to see more of Hunter’s brothers in this series; his entire family was adorable and I fell in love with them instantly.
