The sixth book in the "Mechanizoid" series is an explosion of incredible imagery. To aficionados of pictorial Fantasy/Sci-Fi art, this does not disappoint.

Multi-media surreal artist and composer, Ted Ryback, offers up another collaboration of infectious Sci-Fi delights with "Mechanizoid: Different Drummer Volume 1" another infused art experiment, which combines his masterful keywords with the eyes of AI. As a musician, Ryback was always told, he "marched to the beat of a different drummer." A phrase that sets him apart from his contemporaries, never following a blueprint used by others. In creating his art, he also chooses the path less traveled. These images are quite stunning, as well as, beautifully frightening.

Being that drums are his first instrument, he wanted to assemble a barrage of 'cyborganic percussionists' that would stun the viewer with their eclectic "man meets machine" appearance, while appropriately merging them into the apocalyptic, Mechanizoid environment. Always eye opening but never blase', Ryback envisions a detailed and dilapidated world, as it's perpetually consumed by technology and deterioration. Much like the music he creates, there will be two more volumes to follow, each becoming more refined and realistic with each volume. Fans of H.R. Giger, Salvador Dali, M.C. Escher and Frank Frazetta will finally have a reason for collecting again.
