Me: Jack in the Box with OCD

This is the tale of a man who lived many years with a Pure O dragon. Pure O is the Purely Obsessional type of the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) mental disorder. Usually unseen, this type of closed-loop OCD is often spared a stigmatizing diagnosis, because pure O is primarily limited to the confines of a singularly lonely mind, often seemingly adrift in unseen idle thought, rather than manifested in repetitive acts, such as a hand washing until there is blood or checking a stove or door half a dozen times. Hence, it is perhaps more difficult to put an identifying finger on this often debilitating head-confined affliction. Maybe this retelling will help others afflicted with unwanted and often disturbing thoughts. For one so afflicted, these mental intruders popup like mole heads in a whack-a-mole, or an unfettered jack in the box. In this telling, the author hopes as well to understand how it affected his life, despite the pain such a recollecting and retelling might entail.
