21st Century Woman in love with Elite Ops!

Another great, must read over and over again book by Lora Leigh! I love the fact that I get to connect again with my old favorite characters which really makes Leigh's book stand out and above her rival authors. I admired Maverick as he seduced and help rebuild a fragile, damsel in distress' self esteem as a sensual woman. As a psychotherapist in the field of sexual assault since 1985, I can assure you this book would be a great tool for victimized women seeking to take back their lives as sexual women! I want a romantic Alpha man, are they still out here?

Maverick review

An intriguing storyline that promises more to come!!! Lora leigh continues to get better with her storyline in Book 2 of her new series. The book is hot, hot, hot! It made me laugh, cry, and I couldn't put it down until it I was finished. Just when I thought no one could top Wild Card's Noah/Nathan she comes up with Micah. Oh my God!!! He is definitely my new favorite!! It's a must read! I recommend all of Lora Leigh's books -- this series is great but the Breeds still are #1!!! She hasn't written a bad book. As a reader from way back, I'm so happy to see her success on the bestseller's list!

Lora Leigh Shines Again

I love most of her work and she has written so very much. Maverick is the latest in a series of Elite Ops illustrating strong personalities, and intertwining storyline with military, in this case the Navy Seals. She really is able to hook the reader. Definitely enjoyable!

Excellent

I have read many of Lora Leigh's books and before I read this one I would have described Ms. Leigh as one of the "Queens of Erotica". Her love scenes definitely sizzle, but often her story & character development are lacking. That is NOT the case in "Maverick". I must warn you, I picked up the book and was initially turned off by the first chapter. Most of the time in Ms. Leigh's books you are introduced to the protagonists immediately, and in Chapter one we are introduced to a Psycho CIA agent who is both an assassin for hire and a pedophile. I put the book down after the first chapter, didn't pick it up again for over a week, and I almost didn't bother to pick it up at all. I'm so glad I didn't walk away from this one! As it turned out Orion, the CIA agent turned freelance assassin and sexual deviant, is the bad guy in this story and Micah (code named Maverick) and Risa are the main characters of the story along with a host of other Elite Op characters that are also quite interesting. The story and the characters are well developed! It includes enough background information on the characters in case you haven't read any of the other Elite Ops books (which I had not), and the story itself is both interesting and emotionally moving. I laughed, I cried, and I couldn't put the book down. It has been a while since I stayed up until 4 AM to finish a book that had me this hooked! Needless to say Ms. Leigh's romantic/sexual encounters still make you sweat (or want to go wake up you husband), but this book had the addition of a wonderful, riveting story. Don't miss it! Well done Ms. Leigh, and thank you for an excellent read!

5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!

Micah Sloane is a man resurrected. In Lora Leigh's second installment of her Elite Ops series, readers will see the man behind the mask and the woman that completes him. Former Moussad agent Micah Sloane left behind his secret life years before and is believed dead. As a member of the top secret Elite Ops, he and his fellow warriors are all dead men - on paper. In leaving his past life behind and allowing himself to remain dead, Micah is able to formulate a plan to strike at the man that tore his world apart, a man name Orion. When Micah is given the job of protecting Risa Clay, he knows he must be on his guard. Risa arouses every protective instinct he has but his mission will not allow for personal feelings. With Risa as bait, Micah can almost taste his revenge on the man that destroyed his life years ago. Time and again he has to remind himself that the feelings he feels for Ms. Clay are superficial. The way she moves and smells should not claim his mind but they do. The longer they spend time together the more Micah wants her. And that is where his mission has to end because if one thing is certain, it is the fact that Risa Clay is not for him. Risa Clay has spent the last eight years since her horrific kidnapping and subsequent assault trying to get her life back on track. Having distanced herself from the society in which she grew up, Risa is now ready to face the world. Or so she thinks. A simple introduction to Micah Sloane turns into so much more but Risa doesn't know how to trust. Her innocence long gone, she is not prepared for the explosive feelings and wants that Micah invokes. Finding out that she is his `mission' and that they must pretend to be lovers to draw out Orion nearly brings her to her knees in agony but if she has learned anything in the last eight years it is how to protect her heart. Or so she thinks. Micah Sloane has invaded her heart and her soul and when the mission is over, how will she ever be able to let him go? Vengeance and passion are the name of the game in which Micah and Risa play. With MAVERICK Lora Leigh has penned a remarkable look at how the human psyche can heal - with the right person. Micah and his striking dark eyes drew me in to his soul and behind the pain of his past life and the need for retribution I could see this man's desire for Risa. Men like Micah are never given a second chance at life, much less love, and Micah knew it. Vowing to take what Risa offers without falling in love, Micah's plan falls by the wayside as the woman that Risa Clay has become insinuates herself into his soul. Knowing that he will never love another woman, Micah's treatment of Risa was tender but scorching hot and achingly moving. Micah promises that she will know only pleasure at his hands and he keeps that promise - over and over. MAVERICK is phenomenal. Upping the ante on hotness for this second Elite Ops installment, Lora Leigh has raised the bar on seduction. MAVERICK and the feelings
