In March, 1912, the sentencing phase of a simple trial suddenly erupted into a violent shoot out with back and forth gun fire shattering the entire curt. The County Sheriff, the Judge, Commonwealth Attorney, a juryman and witness were killed outright and others were wounded. This account in historically accurate, but has been enhanced by adding the fictional character Pug Potter to add humor and interest.
