Clad in her heavy, battered pressure suit, Megan begins her perilous journey, relying on pure adrenaline and the rigorous training that had taught her to find logic in the extreme. Yet, as she pushes through the dust-choked canyons, the scientific certainties she holds begin to crumble. The Martian expanse, supposedly a geological graveyard, starts to reveal secrets that defy every known law of physics and planetary science. With every kilometer gained, Megan is confronted by the horrifying realization that her dire struggle for life is complicated by the presence of an inexplicable, perhaps malevolent, intelligence.

The daunting trek gradually morphs from a survival slog into an existential nightmare.
