Book in bad shape

The book its self is good but this book was dirty and had a glob of glitter on the back. It was in pretty bad shape on the outside.

So far my absolute favourite MM book

I am a huge MM fan and collector of her books. I have a good number of books on her. But when I'm interested in seeing pictures of Marilyn, out of all my books, I reach for this one. I just really like it. Huge, clear pictures. Lots unseen. And I think the essence is it covers all of Marilyn; her happy, sad, thoughtful, e.t.c. To me it also has the quickest and simple, yet totally well-rounded biography (the book is simply Marilyn's life in Clayton's words, with tons of pics). The bio is not complicated, but thoroughly tells of Marilyn's thoughts and actions and the thoughts and actions of those who interacted with her. If you get this book you won't regret it.

Some of Monroe Unseen

I liked this book. It should be in every Monroe collector's collection. It contains lots of rare pictures and info that wasn't generally known to the public. The only fault that I found that no color pictures were added in the book. But otherwise it's well worth your time and money.

From the Dust Jacket:

These photos document the important events in her life: her early years, her movies, her marriages to baseball star Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller, her battles with the studio and her decline in health. They not only include movie stills and portraits, but also many other less well known pictures taken during her career.

The legendary Marilyn Monroe

This book contains many photos of Marilyn Monroe throughout her life. It even has a picture of her when she was a baby. The pictures, which are black and white, are beautiful and not grainy at all. This book contains 382 pages. While each chapter of the book describes a period in her life, the pictures tell most of the stories. A great book for any Marilyn Monroe fan!

That fabulous face!

It's a uniquely American tale. Young cute girl with some natural talent and good looks remade into stunning zaftig star. And tragic as well. Marie Clayton's bio puts together some incredible photos. I would have never pictured myself much of a Marilyn fan, but I'm just so taken with her smile. Her face conveys so much. I'm not talking about complicated emotions, but just stunningly simple and beautiful reactions. Plus, the sheer physicality of her. She's ample and full. Clayton's done a nice job assembling this book.
