A Matter of Trust

I have another writer to add to my favorites; Valerie Parv. This book is so far past five I loved it. Alita(Lee)Coulthard Perry was a young divorced woman who had been put though the ringer by her ex-husband Steve Perry. So she was man shy. But the moment rich Taggart Laskin steps into her live he falls in love with her. She turns him off at first because she uses him to avoid her ex-husband, but before she can explain this to him he stomps off in a huff. Then Lee agrees to take over a friend Karen's agency while Karen is on her honeymoon, only to find out Tagg is the boss of the station she is going to be living on. They get caught in a flash flood while going to another client of Karen's and Tagg has to get Lee to an old shack until it's safe to travel. They spend the night, but when Tagg comes on to Lee she scratches his face so badly he claims he is marked for life(note no one else notices his face has been badly scratched, and for some reason it's not referred to again). From the back of the book: 'It was to be the start of a new life. For Alita, agreeing to run her friend Karen's farm secretarial agency in the Australian outback was the first step away from her past. She hoped to forget her regrettable marriage and perhaps find that not all men were brutish like her ex-husband, Steve.
