Steig for grown-ups

This NOT a children's book. Steig is one of the few disciples of Picasso, and, like the master, he revels in the fleshy and the erotic. This is a book about men and women, their loves, miseries, jealousies and ecstasies. There is no text - the images speak for themselves. Steig's line can be loose, minimal. Yet he is not undisciplined, and very, very clear. A feast for the eyes and for the soul. The more one has lived, the more one appreciates this art.
