This practical guide, written for both the novice and experienced writer, takes the mystery out of writing, and provides the clues for publishing best-selling mysteries. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've read a few books on mystery writing, and this is the best so far. It goes beyond vague suggestions like "create an interesting character" and gives detailed suggestions on how that might be done. It does the same with elements like plot and dialogue. I checked it out from the library. Is it really out of print? That would be a shame.
If you buy only 1 book on mystery writing, buy this one.

Of the 12 books I own on writing mysteries, I feel this is the best. It's detailed enough for writers already familiar with the field, yet easy enough for the beginning fiction writer to understand. Too bad it's out of print, but it's worth the extra time, effort & money required to try and obtain it through a book search.
