Makeda

By Mark Senior

She is called the Queen of Sheba in the Bible. Bilqis in the Quran. The Queen of the South in the Gospels. Three of the world's great religions claim her. Her own people called her Makeda.

This is her story, told at full height, for the first time.

Makeda opens The Lion and the Scroll series by recovering the true history of ancient Ethiopia's greatest queen: the civilisation she ruled, the journey she made, the wisdom she sought, and the child she carried home, a child who changed the course of African and biblical history forever.

Inside you will discover the ancient kingdom of Saba, the trade empire Makeda commanded, the 1,500-mile journey to Jerusalem, her encounter with Solomon, and the covenant that came home to Africa in the hands of her son Menelik I.

This is not legend. This is history. And it has been waiting three thousand years to be told.
