The Bible is God's supreme guide to mankind. Its interpretation and revelation to the surrendered soul is the function of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples, "When He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth."'Make Straight the Way of the Lord' came to be written because the author was dismayed that tradition, rather than biblical truth, lies at the heart of so much of Christendom's operation and practices. Thus, a burden was placed on the writer's heart to search afresh in the Scriptures to identify many elements of church life, belief and practice that provided the pattern the Lord intended His people to follow, not only at that time, but until His return in glory.This book is in three parts which together provide guidance concerning the steps along the spiritual journey that will lead to God's ultimate will and purpose being fulfilled for individuals and Christian communities, who seek to live and to worship under the lordship of God's one and only Son, without the need of intermediaries.Jesus told the woman at the well of Samaria, "....an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:23-24.Many who come to the Lord are largely uninformed about the spiritual pathway that lies ahead of them and what exactly will be their future on their departure from this life. The writer expresses the hope that what he has been led to write will bring light into dark places and will contribute to 'making straight the way of the Lord'.
