Perfect for beginners

I have to defend this book. It wasn't written for advanced AdSense users, so it cannot be judged as if it were. I'm an AdSense user, and this is the book I recommend to my non-technical friends and family members who don't understand how I make money from running ads on my Web site. It's perfect for them to learn how to do it too. How else are newbies going to get started if there is no book for them? Everything Eric writes is knowledgeable, down-to-earth, helpful, and honest. Remember that he had an editor for this book too, so it was probably changed a lot from his usual style. His new book, Uncommon AdSense, probably better reflects his writing style since it didn't have a big publisher. I like his companion blog for this book too. It reflects himself as an honest, smart guy whom you can trust to teach you about AdSense.

Great for newbies, solid for the experienced

This book fleshes out in detail the possibilities with Google AdSense by providing clear instructions for beginners. For those with a bit more experience in developing sites, the book provides one with plenty of helpful sites (in addition to exclusive sites by the author). The author is careful to make NO claims of big money, but instead stresses that most sites will make some money. It's a good instruction manual for bloggers and web developers to cover their expenses.

I bought your book «Make easy money with Google» last Thursday (2 days ago) and I almost read it twice since. I finally understood how to prepare a Web site, to put it on the Net, etc. etc. I also used Nvu and following your instructions, it works verrrrry well. I've been reading a lot of books and e-books, in English and in French, about these subjects, but it was hard for me to link all the steps in a whole process to get from A to Z, or at least, to W or X. I'm retiring in February 2006 and I plan to publish e-books, mine and some from other people too, but there were few nuts and bolts missing. I want to master every step of the process myself to be independant if I encounter any difficulties and be able to fix things without waiting for a technician to solve my site problems. I understood also how to set up a blog, and I used it to express a message very important for me. The «conversations» in the book allow us to identify to attitudes or problems encountered as we try to make sense (and Adsense ;)) with all the Internet stuff. Keep up the great work. Marie Vallee

Excellent web & AdSense book for non-techies!

I was one of the reviewers of this book, and Eric did a wonderful job explaining the web in general, and how to use AdSense. As the section "Is This the book for You?" explains, this book is targeted at the average non-technical user, that is, the majority of the people out there, who want to learn about the web, how to setup websites, and how to make some money off their websites by using AdSense. I believe this book is very good, because the key to make money with AdSense is to have a good website with good content. This book is not about AdSense workarounds and hacks to maximize AdSense profit, but as Eric shows, this book is about how to make money with AdSense by simply creating a good website, with good content. For this Eric explains, using easy to understand language and a narrative form, all the parts of the web, how to create websites (from concept to implementation), and then how to plug in AdSense to make money off your website. I am sending a copy of this book to my father, a non-technical user, who will learn quite a bit from this book: about the web, terminology, creating his own website, and of course making money with AdSense... Last but not least, I (a technical-type) have even benefited from this book - I have had my own technical website with AdSense for a long time now, and after reading Eric's book, and applying some of Eric's AdSense recommendations, I actually started to make more money a day off my website!
