How did Tom know all that about me?
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
I have just completed reading of LOVING LIFE AFTER SIXTY: CELEBRATING THE AUTUMN OFYOUR LIFE. My wife gave it to me on the occasion of my 60th birthday. I thought, Oh no, not another book...and set it aside for a couple of months. Bad mistake. When I did pick it up, I found it difficult to put down. I was particularly drawn to the way Tom Paugh reminded the reader that there is really little new under the sun. By mixing the wisdom of the ages, from a rich variety of sources, with his own reflections and wisdom about life, he connects the reader with both the past and the present. Although the topics he has chosen to write about are obvious to anyone over 60, he writes about each of these in a delightful, conversational and narrative manner. His "letters never sent" are worth the price of the book. I keep asking myself, "How did Tom know all that about me?" A host of my post-60 friends can expect a copy of this stirring little book from me for Christmas 2000.
