Ruth Boorstin and her husband read every year at a charity event I attend. I bought several copies of Love Is Not Because simply because the book was signed by the author, it was affordable, and the charity received the profits. When I began reading Mrs. Boorstin's seemingly simple rhymes, I found myself smiling, then laughing, then remembering good times and frustrating ones. Before an hour was through, I had read every poem. Of course, I sent the extra books to family and friends. My mother called to tell me that she thought I was trying to make her "sophisticated" by sending her a poetry book. She was surprised to be so delighted when reading the poems and has now shared the book with all her friends who also find it charming and witty and fun. Love Is Not Because will entertain you and brighten your day. Buy it for a fun read. Give it to your friends and share the wonder of poetry.
