This guide explores the planning, development, implementation, and life-cycle management (support and maintenance) of Lotus Notes applications. It presents a project tracking application as a case... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one of the best Lotus Notes v3 developer guides I've read, as it doesn't just tell you about how to program Notes, but also covers extensively the "interative" development approach that is (in my opinion, at least) the most appropriate way to use the product. It also covers issues such as design standards, checklists for testing and implementation guidelines. Like many Notes books it is accompanied by a CD-ROM, which has a few example databases, that are discussed in the text, and also various third party demos and utilites. The big problem for this book is that all the design and programming issues are based on Notes 3.x, and until it is updated (which would require a re-write of many portions) it is of limited help to those wishing to learn about Notes release 4 issues. Even without the Notes release 4 update, this book is still worth looking at if you're a professional Notes developer, and you need to put some structure into your development process.
