An oasis in the desert for those going through a hard time.

Seldom has a book touched me as this one has. I spent months reading this book on and off. I'd put it down and pick it up. (It was the timing of some difficulty in our lives, but I kept choosing this book - along with the Bible of course). I have to confess, early on I skipped through some of the recounting of her suffering, as my husband is ill and I had difficulty reading some of it. (I still thumb back now). I would read a couple pages here and there, and I would like to say that I found the book as well as the author to be sound in the Biblical sharing (which is so important to me as I have backed off from reading books besides the Bible, there are so many with false teachings). But more importantly (at least for me) was her honest approach of her desire to know more of the Lord and His will for her life. Also her honesty with her own failures and shortcomings. I felt as if we had walked many of the same paths and I knew she was my sister (older and wiser of course). Gentle, humble; the fruits of the Spirit apparent in her manner of speech and in the honest re-telling of her struggles. It was so terribly helpful to me as I have questions about certain things that there don't seem to be pat answer to, and even bringing them up sometimes causes issues. But, the one thing I have learned, and it seems the author has too, is that Jesus will have the answer for you as You seek Him through prayer and through His Word. Time spent alone with Him. I think if you are or have gone through a difficult time with an illness or a loved one with an illness, this book will touch you. If you have been through a dry spell in your relationship with the Lord, and you really would like some insight, I believe her story will inspire you to draw closer to Him. I believe you will only be disappointed as you finish this book and find there are not a lot of books by Florence... God bless you as you read it if you are led to do so. Holly

Centering on Jesus Christ

I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it for alot of reasons. First, the author centers her remarks and attention on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, not man's opinions or ideas. Her experiences are consistent with biblical truth and in no way does she veer from this. She uses the plumbline of God's word. I believe she is balanced in her beliefs about healing and suffering.
