The recent, mysterious disappearance of several couples near the Kakouetta caves in the Pyrenees mountains of France has unleashed all kinds of speculation in the local population. All the more so because the area is rumoured to be a favourite UFO landing ground.

The investigators of the affair couldn't be more different in their opinion and methods. While Muriel, a brilliant thirty-year old doctor in Physics who heads a research laboratory devoted to unexplained phenomenon, insists on keeping an open mind to the supernatural, Michel, a forty year old judicial police inspector, specialized in paranormal affairs, stoically searches for a rational explanation.
Both, along with the reader, will struggle with their beliefs right up to the suspenseful climax and the revelation of a deeply buried, yet very human, reality.
