It was that beautiful Sunday morning as we gathered in His Presence worshipping in a warm Holy Spirit saturated atmosphere that I got the ministration for the title of this book, LOOK UP! I quickly picked my pen and jotted it down. As the worship continued, the chapters were dropping in my heart one after the other. We really need to look up in this race because there is no better option. Our help comes from above and not down. We need to look up because many are there who are looking up to us even when we don't know it. We dare not disappoint them. Beloved, the issues treated in this book is not peculiar to a particular group of people. All mortals, the anointed, rich, the poor, kings and their subjects, husbands, wives, students, businessmen and women, the educated and uneducated, at one time of the other receive this ugly monster as a guest. Yes, it comes but don't give him a seat. In fact, don't open the door or let him in because if you do, in a jiffy he takes more space than you can imagine. Discouragement is a very bad guest that comes with self-pity, magnifying lens, unforgiveness, doubt and fear. It does not respect anybody no matter who and how highly placed. The devil has used it to destroy many, believers and unbelievers alike. Have you ever asked, Why do people commit suicide? Why do men and women cry and get despaired and dejected? Why the moody feelings and anger? What could make a prophet who prayed and for three and half years there was no rain according to his word and prayed again and there was rainfall, a prophet who called down fire and singly killed four hundred prophets of Baal and did so many other miracles and wonders, go to sit under the juniper tree and asking God to take away his life? What could have made a after God's heart weep and cry till there was no strength to cry? He saw it all both joy and sorrow to the extremes yet experienced terrible discouragement. Beloved, quit yourself as men and be determined not just to overcome discouragement but to help others overcome it too. May we all receive grace upon grace in Jesus' name.
