"Here's to us bachelors. May we live fast, but die easy and smiling."

This March,2006 episode of Longarm is a real corker. A simple task for Curtis Long should be getting to work in the morning. An encounter with a pair of yahoos and a young filly leads to some exciting action for Longarm;and he doesn't even have to leave town. Marshal Billy Vail has an assignment for Curtis that inolves railroad travel, some real dangerous train robbers, some other lawmen that Longarm could do without, who feel the same way about him. Longarm gets into some very serious trouble;and it is touch and go whether the Piautes, the outlaws, the rattlesnakes or his wounds be his downfall. This is a well written, yarn;filled with every kind of Old West action thatwill be tough to put down. Some wonderful characters keep appearing throughout the story. In each episode we get to know a bit more about our hero.In this story ,he is in his mid thirties,he's 6'4" and weighs over 200 pounds;and tough as nails.Rutherford B. Hayes is President;therefore this story is set between 1877 and 1881. "Even with Curtis Long in a hospital bed you better be damned careful or he'll figure a way to punch your ticket for a one way ride to boot hill." A great read and one you won't want to miss.
