"If my aim had been better,he'd be DEAD! In all good time ,Miss Rogers."

"Dwarf, you're under arrest for murder, attempted murder, disturbing the peace, smelling bad, looking ugly, and a few other things I'll make up when I write my report!" This is one of the best episodes I've read in this series for a long time. No beating around the bush with mystery writing instead of down to earth western writing, as we expect to get in this series. The story starts off with great action and the pace continues to build throughout the story. There is no doubt as to who the culprits are and we get nothing except our hero Longarm in determined pursuit of justice. We also get a few diversions along the way,but the characters, circumstances, descriptions and situations just keep on coming. There are several great scenes along the way,but none better than the showdown nd shoot-out at THE DWARF HOUSE SALOON. There are several great characters developed here that are as good as any we've seen in the series. Lida Ann, a poker player way ahead of her age,Amber with only dreams of Stardom in her heart,Gowdy's enormous wife,Muriel, the one-of a-kind albino attorney,J Mortimer St.Paul, and least but not last;the little big man,Titus Turley, better known as DWARF. The one thing that pales by comparison, though,is the artwork on the cover to go with the storyline. It's difficult to relate any of the people on the cover with those wonderful characters in the story. What a missed opportunity,or is it just laziness ,that we don't see the Dwarf, the attorney ,the Reverend Peabody(Long), and what a great scene it would have been to show the shoot-out at the DWARF HOUSE SALOON on the cover. It's time fir some changes to be made here. The early episodes, particularly from #1 to #59 ,had excellent artwork on the covers and were much appreciated. With the cover we got for this episode, one has to wonder if whoever put it together, even read the story.
