Boss,I've heard about this fella. He's the one they call Longarm. Folks say he's rough as a cob and

The August 2007,Episode in the Longarm series ,finds our hero about 40 miles South/West of Colorado Springs ,on the hunt for an Owlhoot ,who has been robbing trains of the US Mail, among other misdeeds. The hombre in Longarm's sights is Dog McCluskey;and can you believe it,this character gets his name because of his tail. There is a real different bent in this story provided by a gang of owlhoots who are terrorizing the area ,showing up with their heads on fire. While on one mission Longarm gets mixed up in a couple of other issues and encounters some interesting characters, unlike he has ever met up with;including a butterfly collector,no less. This saga is packed with lots of various kinds of action and reads like a house-a-fire. The writer of this episode is quite different in that he comes up with some real different techniques ,some unusual turn of events and keeps Curtis well supplied with ladies of the Old West. The author does not spend much time dealing with the landscape or other aspects of the west;nor does he inject much in the way of historical happenings. This writer sticks with telling the story and uses very little in the way of colorful lines and expressions of the Old West. Nonetheless, it is a well put together yarn and sure to be enjoyed by any reader of Westerns. Don't miss the artwork on the cover showing the Hell Riders;you'll meet in the story.Sometimes it is hard to relate characters on the cover with those in the story. It is better this time.At least I am convinced on a couple of them; but then again maybe not.
