This book was the first good useable source of information other than the osteogenesis imperfecta organization that we found. It explains the basic diagnosis, cause and problems associated with this condition. It gives you a list of things to watch for which are common to those with OI. Then it speaks about research and treatment, but this part may be obsolete when read because of ongoing research. It talks in detail about the social and psychological ramifications on the family. Then, in part 3 it gets to the meat and potatoes of what a new OI parent wants and needs to know. How to handle the baby in the first few weeks of life when you are the most lost. It suggests lots of techniques to use to make life easier, and brakes less common. It then talks about fracture management and goes into exercise, toys, clothing, and adaptive equiptment. This book was a great help to us and I am sure it will be to you.
