Find it. Buy it!

Highly recommend for anyone that wants to avoid doctors ,more like a made for home medical book. Unbelievable amount of history and current use Information.

Super vendor, product as described, flawless transaction

Book is spiral bound - easy to use, well laid out for each herb, aka names are given, uses of each herb are alphabetically laid out, and main uses are CAPITALIZED, at a glance, information is accessible and easy to understand. I have already used this book over and over. Other reviewers are right, this is the best handy herb book. Definitely the spiral bound version is the one to get. Vendor was great, flawless transaction. Anybody interested in natural things should GO SEE THE MOVIE FOOD INC., real eye opener. Apparently, only showing in one theater in Las Vegas (Red Rock), rumor is there are powers to be trying to yank this movie before too many people see the truth behind the food we put on our tables.

Best herbal book I own, hands down.

This little book (400 pages in paperbound volume) is so handy. It is such a good herbal reference because it lists individual herbs, herbal combinations, Chinese herbs and combinations (which is important, as Chinese herbs are almost always used in combination.) Common herbs as well as less familiar ones used in Western herbal medicine are included with much helpful detail. The Chinese herbal section is better than those I have seen in many other books including ones solely on Chinese herbs. This section gives the Chinese and common name, alternative names, the action and the yin/yang (dry, moist) type of action. While not a comprehensive Chinese herbal and not a substitute for years of education in TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) the section on Chinese herbs is a very helpful reference. There is a lot of information packed into this book. Highly recommended.

a must have book for anyone interested in herbs

This book lists the most prevalent health problems and their herbal treatments. It also lists herbs and how they should be used. This book is a QUICK reference and answers most common herb questions. Further, it gives excellent herbal combinations for common problems like sinuses, Pms, pain relief, cold/flu/fever, female problems, etc. This book is an wonderful resource on how herbal nutrition can enhance your health.

I recommend this to my customers

This is the best basic medicinal herb information book I've come across in 15 years as an herbalist. I recommend this book to all my customers and clients. The combinations are a bit "out there" sometimes but study of the individual herbs will make it possible for even a beginner to put together a tea that will work for him or her.

I Call This "MY HERBAL BIBLE"

As a practicing Herbalist I have found this to be my most favored book of the many I have. (Purchased in 1993) I had used this book so much within the first 4 months after I purchased it the binding began to seperate . I had to take it to a place that would do a spiral binding. I used this book all through out my herbal apprentice with Rosemary Gladstar. Very easy to use and understand. I recommend this book when I give herbal lectures.
