In 2005, We used this program (the complete set) for our boys (6 & 7 yrs old) who were adopted from Russia. They had only been here in the USA for about 3 months when we started. They had never gone to school. They loved it. This was a very very stressful time in my life, and "Little Hearts" made homeschooling so easy. We also used "The Reading Program" that is recommended for this curriculum and enjoyed it very much. I actually taught my boys who spoke mostly Russian to read and speak English and I think that this program aided in this. They loved learning bible memory verses too. BTW, my boys are special needs (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) and this program worked well for them. We loved this curriculum so much that I have bought "little Hands to Heaven" for 2-5 yr olds to homeschool my newly adopted 3 1/2 yr old son (also has Fetal alcohol Syndrome) and my grandson. My only regret is that Heart of Dakota did not have all the other grades that they offers now, and we had to move on to another curriculum. If you want a program that your kids will love that is fun, stress free, bonding, playing, learning time, then this is the one for you. As an extra perk, this curriculum travels well too. Have fun homeschooling. To read more about FAS go to my web site [...]
Great K program!

We love using LHFHG! My daughter is using this as her K program and it's just perfect. Even though it only takes us 90 minutes a day, the program packs a lot of bang into that time. You can choose to do it all in one sitting, or split it up throughout the day by doing a "box" or two at a time. We started the year with Bible as our history and then moved into other world history including a lot of American history stories in the second half of the year. The science is fun and memorable as well as the other activities listed for history and art. My daughter easily remembers the verses she has learned this year from this program (she also does Awana and remembers more from Little Hearts). Not only does she remember the verses, she is able to apply them to situations in her life. I am quite pleased with this program over all and plan to use it for my son's K year when he is old enough. The author also does a great job personally answering any questions you might have by phone, email or the Heart of Dakota message boards. We plan to use the next level for first grade and are looking forward to using other levels of Heart of Dakota products.
