Lovin' Like Boogie

"Like Boogie on Tuesday" is a book that I can honestly say that I got to know each character and could feel their emotions. Nina, is smart, she has a good job, makes good money, and has no self-esteem, so she allows herself to be a doormat for her boyfriend Derek. Nina has grown up with an alcoholic mother and a father who stood by and did nothing. Troi, Nina's sister seems to have it all, a perfect husband, child, and her own business. But her life is not what it seems to be, and one day her whole world is shattered. Troi has to look to her Faith and strength to get her through. Tim, an aspiring film maker is a bright and attractive man who can't seem to commit. One day just as things are going great in his life , his past comes back and slaps him in the face and he has to reevaluate his whole life. Vaughn, Troi's husband is a very attractive man who seems to have it going on, but he is hiding a secret that could destroy his marriage and his life. Vaughn goes through many ups and downs but it is faith and love that will keep him strong. This book is a must read. It will make you laugh and it will make you cry, and that is what is important a book that makes you feel.

I love the night life...I love to Boogie~

Don't let the small print stop ya, this is a very filling book. I am very glad I picked it back up, and so will you. Dominique starts out by giving you a glimpse into each characters childhood and past. Showing us what could've possibly made them who they are today in the book. I fell in love with one character while wanting to shoot another. While reading Like Boogie on a Tuesday you will meet Tim who has some really destructive and screwed up women issues, and Nina whose idea of love or having a man is enough to make you wanna slap her into the 'New Age'. Check out Nina's sister Troi who appears to have everything you could ask for or does she?? Troi's husband Vaughn in his mid twenties still trying and fighting with the little boy in him..... Dominique introduces alot of characters in this book, who are all dysfunctional in their own way. (Aren't we all) Don't sleep on them because I guarantee you will miss something about. She evens has my favorite furbabie in this book a Shih Tzu...the cutiest animal in the American Kennel Club. I believe the author is trying to tell us, we cannot run from who we are nor can we escape things from our childhood by ignoring or buring them, we need to regurgitate. Great book!

Delicious read!

Like Boogie on Tuesday is a beautifully written book. The characters, each wrestling with his or her issues and demons, are rich, memorable, and engrossing. This novel is not a fast-food type of read. Rather, it's more along the lines of a sit down, gourmet meal. Ms. Grovesnor's style of writing insists that readers take their time enjoying every single page, every episode, every revelation. Linda Dominique Grosvenor is a true wordsmith, and Like Boogie on Tuesday, is a curl up with a cup of hot tea, your favorite blanket, and an escape from it all mentality kind of read not to be missed!

Life, Love, Betrayal, God

All these things and a whole lot more introduces you to a story about family and God's grace. "Like Boogie..." touches on infidelity, love, trust, and what can happen when you step out without protection. I was holding my breath as I read this book. A story about two sisters and their dysfunctional family, and two men in a struggle to prove who they are, without jeopardizing anyone in the process. Ms. Grosvenor did a wonderful job in telling you that with faith, all things are possible. A must read.

It's Like Fire...

Five stars does no justice to "Like Boogie on Tuesday." A wonderful story of love, relationships, forgiveness, and family. The characters faced true to life situations with conviction, strength and the wherewithall to weather any situaiton they were confronted with. The book portrayed male and female characters as real people struggling with life. It was hard to put the book down out of fear of missing out on something. Like Boggie...is sure to pique the literary interest of many a reader. You have to read the book to understand. But hopfully the author will scratch out a follow-up. The characters are too rich not too. Kudos to Ms Grosvenor.
