Absolutely exceptional!

I am a VERY avid reader of inspirational fiction - having read literally hundreds of titles over the past few years. Among so many books, this one stands out as one of my absolute favorites. If you love exotic settings, touching romance, and intriguing suspense, you can't go wrong with this one. (Clearly I thoroughly disagree with one of the other more critical reviews listed...) More importantly, however, is the author's focus on faith - the message is truly inspired. Kudos to Patty Metzer - especially considering the hardships she's endured in her own life. I so hope to see more books from her in the near future.

A Must-Read

This book is one of my favorites. It had drama, suspence, and most of all (and, of course, my favorite) romance. In the first chapter my eye brows were squinched and I could not figure out what was happening fully, but by the second chapter, I was completely hooked. The characters were well defined and the plot was captivating and enchanting. Erica's faith is God was evident by her strong convictions, and I believe Patty Metzer did a fabulous job of exibiting Christ-like character in her. She did a fantastic job portraying the Indian religion, and I believe she outdid herself with the outstanding and well-written work she wrote. She deserves more then 5 stars. However, despite these wonderful comments, I advise anyone considering reading this awesome book to make sure they have plenty of time to finish it at once, because frankly you cannot put it down.

She Is My Hero

Even though my mother has gone through cancer two times I still see the greatest amount of love and joy in her life. I have read her books and other manuscripts they touch to the core. I encourage you to read these books because if you are struggeling like most other christians in this world, you will see that there is hope and a light that will guide you. Enjoy!

A phenomenal book!

You need only read the first few pages to be hooked - Ms. Metzer's poetic word choice, complex character development, exotic settings, and rivetting plot provide for a story that you will not want to put down - and you'll wish the end does not come so quickly. Even more powerful, however, is the truth of God's love, patience, and grace so eloquently delivered and woven into the story. This book is one that will not be forgotten with an inspirational message that will leave you touched. If you're like myself, you'll be hoping to see more of Metzer's works in the future. In the meantime, look up KEEPER OF THE LIGHT - her other book out on the market. It too, will most likely become one of your favorites.

Excellent inspirational romantic suspense-not preachy

With the death of her sister Ellen, Erica Tanner believes she must honor her sibling and deceased brother-in-law by raising their four-year-old nephew Betul. She has never met her nephew, but before Erica and Betul can become acquainted, Sikh kidnappers abduct the two and take them to India.Betul's Uncle, Prince Sajah Ajari, manages to rescue the duo. As Erica tries to learn why the Sikh fanatics apparently want her and her nephew dead, she and the Prince are attracted to one another. However, they differ on religious beliefs, especially those impacting on Betul. Erica wants to raise the child as a Christian in deference to her sister's final wishes while Sajah wants his nephew raised as a Hindu. As the twosome diametrically disagree, they must find a common ground to keep Betul even as they fall in love.LIGHTS OF THE VEIL is a fast-paced inspirational relationship drama that contains an underlying theme that belief in God is critical to overcome impossible obstacles. Although author Patty Metzer's basic dogma is vital to the plot, the story line provides the audience with a fast-paced action thriller that showcases India while providing insight into the Sikh and Hindu people. The conflict and love between Sajah and Betul is timely in this modern world where inter-religious families are becoming the norm. Ms. Metzer invigorates her readers with an entertaining, deeply inspiring action tale.Harriet Klausner
