Book Overview

Snow-covered mountains, a secluded cabin, and a crackling fire had always given English professor Margaret Daniels what she needed to escape the chaos of the holiday season. Little did she know that when she opened her door for Paul Reynor to carry in a load of firewood, this holiday would turn out to be unlike any other. Paul's take-control attitude and his down-home charm bring a smile to her lips but add to the confusion of her empty heart.

No longer content to live in her late husband's memory, Margaret contemplates a prestigious job offer, a move that seemed so simple before meeting Paul. Now with their growing closeness throughout the snow-filled days, they both fight and attraction that seems totally wrong.

Can love bridge the cultural gap and show them the wonders of a second chance?

Another great Southern Writer

Yes, we Southerners can read, some of us can even write, and some of us can write in splendid fashion especially those born in Mississippi. Add Fran McNabb to that list. This is a wonderful story, very true to life but still leaving the reader feeling that in spite of loss and sorrow, life can still provide a lot of good experiences. This is a great book to curl up with by the fire on a cold winter's night--or read under a big umbrella on the beach on a summer day. The writing flows, the descriptions are vivid, and every chapter is enjoyable. You'll remember this one with good feelings. So get it and read and enjoy.

Fantastic Reading for Every Season

Don't let the Christmas cover on this book fool you that it's strictly reading for the holidays. The tender romance between Margaret and Paul will warm your heart. I could have checked the book out at the library--I didn't. I have my own copy that I can re-read whenever my spirits need a lift. Many thanks, Fran McNabb, for dishing up this treat for all seasons.
