Not too long released from prison, Life Thugstin finds himself in trouble once again. While leading the police on a high speed chase, Life runs into Hope Evans and this chance meeting changes their lives forever. Hope is a college student studying law, with big plans of one day becoming a successful lawyer. She hopes to expose the corruption in the justice system against black men. Hope knows she is wrong for helping Life escape, but she just can't say no. There's no denying the chemistry between the two, but with two totally different lifestyles, Hope realizes there is no future in loving a "thug". However, they share one night of electrifying passion and go their separate ways. Neither of them knew that they would be reunited years later. Life meets Trina, and his dreams of becoming a drug lord are fulfilled. Trina and Life have the perfect plan, they are to get in and get out within a year. One year turned into a couple of years, leading to a spiraling path of destruction. Throughout their changing lifestyles, things got deeper between the two, more people were added to their world, but even more were being killed. The author has intertwined and addressed several issues; crime, poverty, education, drugs and HIV. LIFE teaches us that everything is not always what it seems and you can't help who you love. Laced with tons of drama, there is a message with every situation. The characters were developed so well they left me thinking about them long after the story was over. The emotions evoked throughout this book will leave you wanting more and more. Through this work of fiction, Leo Sullivan has educated the reader on some of the societal issues that affect our communities today. He showed the presence of the black church and how even when we fail God, He is still watching over us. Good to the last drop

This book was very well written. I could not put the book down. It was like watching an action movie. I would recommend this book to any one who is a true urban book reader. Mr. Sullivan you get two thumbs up!

A Life Without Hope!!!!!!!!

All the Nay Sayers who believe that urban lit has nothing to offer the literary world need only to pick up this book to find out why urban lit is here to stay. All those who are convinced that only stereotypical images of sex and violence is all that's to be found inside of an urban book needs to be introduced to author Leo Sullivan and immersed in the masterful tale he penned with his debut novel Life. Life is no ordinary urban tale even though it contains all the necessary elements. A thugged out main character (Life Thugstin), a brainy heroine (Hope Evans), a murderous drug lieutenant (Blazack), a dirty cop (Spitler) and a crew of dangerous females (Trina, Evette & Tomica) whom readers will be kept guessing as to with whom their loyalties lie. One of the many reasons that Life resonates above the rest of urban lit is the character development. Every character contained in the novel even minor characters like strung out Nina Brown get blessed with Mr. Sullivan's descriptive flair of storytelling. A flair so great that Mr. Sullivan easily brings to life the fear of a hustler trying to survive a game where there are no winners, or the desperation of a woman determined to pull her man out of a game that she introduces him to and the desperation of yet another woman frantically trying to save all black men in the court room from the injustice of a corrupt legal system. Including a drug kingpin who's facing a life sentence. A man whose child she bore years ago without his knowledge. Leo Sullivan delivers a clear message to the doubters of urban lit but better than that his book Life delivers to fans of the genre a new urban masterpiece!!!!!! Congratulations Mr. Sullivan excellent work!!

U GOTTA READ LIFE

OMG...this book had me goin'. I had to read it in like a day. You cant help but cheer for Life. Leo Sullivan is a beautiful writer. I really liked how he developed his characters. This book was well written and articulated. I could not put it down. Life Thugstin has so many sides to him. I dont really want to get into the deatils of the book cuz u just gotta read it for yourself. "Life" is a worthwhile read.

Have you ever read a story and you knew that the bad guy should be hated, but you can't seem to hate him..because he always does something that shows that he cares even if he is thugged out...he's only trying to survive in this mean, cruel world...well....meet Life Thugsin...then meet Leo Sullivan...because he is the man behind this fantastic book...this book is such a GREAT READ...I just couldn't put it down without thinking about it...You will fall in love with Life and those that he cares about...yes Life does some things that he isn't proud of but he is trying to survive and when he comes on the come up...he takes his people with him...you will find yourself rootin for him and watch out cause you will become that ride or die chick... The sex scenes in this book are all the way LIVE!! OMG!!!I can't say enough good things about this book without giving away the story...if you want to read a gangsta/gangsta love story...then this is the book...Kudos to you Leo Sullivan you certainly handled your business...I look forward to more of your work...You certainly won't be disappointed...definitely a page turner...every page is on FIYAA
