While Others talk about love, Lauren Akins gets to live in it

Lauren Akins grew up in a family where mum and dad loved God, each other, their children, and their community. Lauren and Thomas Akins share their story and experience of living in love. Their marriage is one outcome of living in love. My favorite person or character is Thomas Rhet Akins; he brings it all together. The love Lauren started to live in as a child continues now with her and Thomas' family because Thomas Rhet loves his family and others. He supports and encourages her to pursue her passion for living in love. For example, she was invited by a missionary friend to Haiti to serve at an orphanage, which she eagerly accepted, but at some point she felt reluctant to travel there. Thomas Rhet assured her that she needed to pursue her interest. Another time, Thomas Rhet endured with Lauren the hardships of adoption. At an orphanage in Uganda, Lauren fell in love with a baby and wanted to adopt the baby. She discussed it with him. To her surprise, he wholeheartedly agreed to adopt the baby and bring her home to the United States. I am delighted to have read the story of Lauren and Thomas Aikins and gladly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading memoirs, especially those about family.

I really enjoyed this book! It was wholesome and well written. I laughed in spots and it hit different parts of me in different ways. I love the realness with which Lauren Akins writes and the rawness of her and Thomas Rhett’s feelings in different ways and situations. I felt this book as a whole was uplifting and encouraging and it’s neat to see a glimpse inside the lives of people who are so well known and to read a bit of their story before fame hit. Definitely recommend!!
