A new cell with the right area code. A sky's-the-limit credit card. A chance at becoming a Hollywood It Girl. What else could Eva possibly want? Caught in the middle of senior year's juiciest scandal, Eva Cordes graduates early and moves to L.A. to live with her aunt -- the top talent agent for teens -- who plans to make her a star. Eva has another reason for heading to Hollywood: it's time for her to get to know her mother -- a once-famous model who left Eva to be raised by her grandparents. But when she gets stuck rooming with a bunch of outrageous teen starlets, and her mom doesn't want to admit she even has a daughter, Eva's life is one big tabloid story after another. Smoking-hot Hollywood insider Danny wants to be her leading man, but he's officially off-limits. With all these complications, how can Eva ever make it down the red carpet without falling flat on her face?
Some things have happened to Eva Cordes back in her high school that she doesn't want to deal with for the rest of the year. Eva's solution? Graduate a semester early and start a new life in Hollywood with her aunt, Laurel, an agent who represents some of the biggest teen stars. Eva is going to be a star! An added bonus? She might get to find out more about her mother, a model who dumped Eva with her grandparents as a small child. Life in Hollywood isn't quite as fabulous as Eva thought it would be, though. Sure, she's got her own credit card and a chance to become a star, but she's also rooming with a couple of other teen starlets who could turn out to be her friends--or, more likely, as it would seem at first, enemies. Her has-been mother won't even tell people she is a mother. Eva is being told who she can and cannot date because of their connections in Hollywood. Her aunt is keeping secrets from Eva. What did she expect, though? This is Hollywood, and Eva's life is fit for the tabloids already. LIFE AS A POSER, the first book in THE 310 series, is a fun page-turner with sometimes outrageous and always interesting characters that readers looking for a way to pass a rainy Saturday won't want to miss. It's an entertaining and fairly quick read, as well as a fun behind-the-scenes look at Hollywood! I've read quite a few books lately that are backstage passes to the lives of celebrities, and this is one of the better ones. Perhaps because Eva goes so quickly from being a normal high school student to Hollywood; perhaps because Beth Killian is just a great writer! Either way, readers won't want to miss the next book in THE 310 series, Everything She Wants (310). Reviewed by: Jocelyn Pearce
A fabulous summer read!

I picked up this book at the bookstore one day, because I needed something to read. This is now one of my favorite books, and can't wait to read the next book "Everthing she Wants". I read this book in about 4 days, and I think people who love Gossip Girl, The A-List, and The It-Girl would enjoy this book. It tells the story of Eva, who moves to California to live with her Aunt Laurel. Many unexpected things happen when she arrives, like the fact that she's rooming with Jacinda, a girl who appears on gossip tabloids all the time. And when she meets Danny, who is the perfect but unreachable guy. Then there's the story of her past and why she left her other life behind... overall, this book is a juicy and scandalous novel. I definitely recommend this for teens and chic lit readers.
Fun and Witty - the perfect beach read

THE 310: LIFE AS A POSER is the epitome of a great summer read. Smart and funny, the novel tells the tale of Eva, who graduates early from her East Coast small town high school and moves to Los Angeles - partly because her Aunt Laurel, a high powered talent agent, offers to make her a star, partly because Eva was caught up in a high school scandal and leaving town is preferable to having to face the local teen Queen Bee and the disapproval of her best male friend. And mostly because Eva wants to finally get to know her wild child celebrity mother and discover more about the father whose name she doesn't even know. But life in LaLaLand is far from lunches at the Ivy and couture shopping in Beverly Hills. To begin, Aunt Laurel sticks Eva with the roommate from Hades, whose shenanigans would make a Hilton sister proud. Then there are the other teen starlets, who see Eva as a threat. And the boys - the less said about them, the better. Things look up when Eva meets Danny, another aspiring actor. But Danny's stepbrother also has his eye on Eva, and what his stepbrother wants, his stepbrother gets. It doesn't help that Danny's stepmother is head of casting for a network...and very protective of her son's wants. Eva's life becomes even more complicated when she books her first commercial - and has a chance to discover her father's name. Her tangled life is very fun to live vicariously through, and makes for great escapist reading. Author Beth Killian has a sharp and witty pen, and gently skewers Hollywood while keeping Eva likeable and relatable. Highly recommended.

I picked this up because it looked good for one and another because it's written by Beth Killian (aka Beth Kendrick). I've read all of Kendrick's chick lit books and loved them so I knew I had to read her new teen series. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed and I'm looking forward to reading the next in this series. Any fans of Gossip Girl or the A-List series will enjoy reading about these Hollywood model/actress teens.

Life as a Poser is the first book in the new cool 310 book series. The book was written by hip author Beth Killian. Life as a Poser is a light, fun, captivating read about a teenage girl named Eva who graduates from high school early and heads out to Los Angeles. Eva has pretty much been shuffled around in life. Her aunt passed her on to her grandparents and after 14 years with her grandparents Eva is headed to Los Angeles to live with her Aunt Laurel. Aunt Laurel is a super powerful Hollywood agent and teens are her niche. Aunt Laurel plans to make Eva a star in Hollywood. Career aspirations aside, Eva has family business. She wants to form a relationship with her mother. Eva's mother is a former model who doesn't exactly embrace telling the world that she has an adult daughter. Simply put, Life as a Poser is a great kick off for the 310 series. Teens will enjoy the celebrity name drops. Orlando Bloom, Natalie Portman, Mischa Barton are just a few of the celebrity named mentioned in the book. Life as a Poser is a very in the now book. It's a very good story and today's teens will relate. The next book in the 310 series, Everything She Wants is due this August.
