Great for pre-readers

This book is good for kids who are learning to sight read. I read this book to my 3 1/2 year old, including the word list at the back of the book. She memorized it in a week and was able to sight read all of the words from the word list at the end of the book by the end of the second week. We were able to have several discussions about swimming, making friends, trusting others, etc. after reading the book.
